A Trio of Triolets

our world is burning
our home is flooding
we go on living, laughing
as the world is burning
to our holiday we are flying
and of course still driving,
consuming, partying
though our world is burning
and our home is flooding

. . . . .

what is all the fuss about
does it really matter
if there are no more polar bears
what is all the fuss about
if there are no more gorillas
or blue whales or rhinos and
if there are no more butterflies
what is all the fuss about
does it really really matter

. . . . .

they say things have got to change
we must mend our careless ways
we must reduce, reuse and recycle
they say things have got to change
cut the driving and flying take a bus
be greener, keener to save the planet
before it gets too hot, before it’s too late
because things have got to change
we really must mend our careless ways
